Nour Amin MS, RDN-E

I am a dedicated nutrition professional with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Texas at San Antonio, where I also pursued a minor in Psychology.  I was fortunate to be part of UTSA’s coordinated program of Nutrition and Dietetics, which not only broadened my knowledge but also enabled me to further my education through a Master’s of Dietetic Studies.

During my studies, I had diverse internship experiences in Meals on Wheels, The Lactation Center, Blue Skies of Texas, The Eating Recovery Center, Methodist Hospital Metropolitan, and UT Health Nursing School. These experiences deepened my understanding of dietetics across foodservice, clinical work, and community outreach. I realized the importance of personalized nutrition guidance based on various factors such as socioeconomic background, demographics, and personal goals. I firmly believe that individualized nutrition is the key to promoting healthy living, and am deeply passionate about finding creative solutions to address the unique challenges faced by each individual, irrespective of external and internal barriers.

My internship at Methodist Hospital provided practical experience in managing chronic illnesses like heart disease, diabetes, and chronic kidney disease. It sharpened my decision-making skills and expanded my knowledge of medical nutrition therapy.

At the Eating Recovery Center, I witnessed the importance of individualized nutrition for patients with eating disorders. Guiding patients on their journey towards recovery and restoring a healthy relationship with food was immensely rewarding.

Outside of work, I enjoy quality time with loved ones and engaging in activities like hiking, ice skating, and tennis. I’m an avid reader, delving into topics such as psychology, nutrition, philosophy, and physiology.

I am excited to cultivate a strong patient connection and collaborate closely to develop personalized nutrition care plans tailored to each individual’s unique circumstances and background. Setting realistic, long-term goals is crucial for making a profound impact on patients’ lives. My ultimate objective is to foster meaningful bonds with patients within a comforting atmosphere, ensuring quality patient experience.
