Slow Cooked Beef with Mushrooms

- 2 pound beef rump roast, trimmed and cut into 2 inch cubes, or purchase lean beef tips if available
- ½ teaspoon each salt and fresh cracked black pepper
- 12 ounces mushrooms, quartered
- 1 small sweet yellow onion, cut vertically into slivers
- 1 (1 oz.) package dry onion soup mix
- 1 (10.75 oz) can Healthy Request Cream of Mushroom Soup
- 1 (10.5 oz) can low sodium beef broth
- ¼ cup dry red wine
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Season beef with salt and pepper and place in slow-cooker. Add mushrooms and onions and sprinkle all with dry soup mix.
- In medium bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Pour over beef mixture and stir.
- Cover and cook on low heat for 6 to 8 hours until beef is tender. Serve over egg noodles or mashed potatoes, if desired.
